Handling a Roadside Emergency

Finding yourself stuck on the side of the road can be a scary experience. Even with a charged cellphone and relatively calm weather, you can still be at risk for injury. Making sure that you are safe on the road starts with creating an emergency kit for your car, including a flashlight, blanket, batteries, water bottle, some food and a spare key.

In addition to building your emergency kit, you should also do a check of your tires for pressure and tread before you leave on a long trip or during inclement weather. Make sure that your battery is not due for a replacement. It is always a good idea to have a fully inflated spare tire available in case you hit road debris.
